Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says a lack of consistency from his team has been his biggest frustration this season.
City surrendered their Premier League crown to Liverpool this term and slumped to a ninth defeat of the campaign when losing 1-0 at Southampton on Sunday evening.
Guardiola's side could still finish the season with three trophies but he says they've had one main issue this year.
"Our consistency" he said of their main problem in 2019/20. "We’ve not converted our game plan. In this business you have to win.
"When you've lost nine games you can’t win the Premier League - maybe years ago, but not right now. The champions need to get more than 90 points.
"After two or three successful seasons they've been unbelievable," he added. "We are at the point where we sometimes make mistakes. We have to avoid that. In some games the lack of goals punish us as a team.
"We have incredible targets to fight for, to try to play good. This is the most important thing.
"We need to qualify for the Champions League. With five games left, we are able to do it. All the games we have been incredible. The performance has been there, even against Southampton. That makes me confident for the last games of the Premier League."
