Bray Wanderers AFC have announced that they will host Manchester United next month for a pre-season friendly.
The Wicklow team will have a chance to test Louis van Gaal's reserves in a match at the Carlisle Grounds on Sunday, July 20th.
With many of United's under-21's undoubtedly looking to impress their new manager, it's certain to be a fantastic battle, and will feature some up-and-coming names from their academy.
Bray manager Alan Mathews is looking forward to his young squad showing what they can do against Premier League opposition:
"This match is the perfect opportunity for our players to go out and play against opposition of this calibre. It’ll be a fantastic occasion for the fans to come and see a top class club side play in Bray."
Chairman Eddie Cox, who is currently overseeing the club's move into community ownership, spoke of the coup:
"This prestigious fixture is a real boost for the club – the staff, fans, volunteers – everyone who is working to build a stable and vibrant club for the whole Wicklow community."
The match takes place during the Bray SummerFest and football fans will be able to see the popular Bray air display on the same day.
