Ireland made a dream start to tonight's match.
Pilkington scored after just 7 minutes to put O'Neill's side into an early lead.
The Norwich winger raced onto a sublime through ball from new cap David McGoldrick before finishing it off with a delicate chip over US goalkeeper Bill Hamid.
McGoldrick and Cyrus Christie were both making their international debuts tonight after being included in a much changed starting XI, while Hull winger Brady was given a chance to impress at left-back.
The visitors recovered from that setback to draw level in the 39th minute after Mix Diskerud punished some slack Irish defending to score from close range. David Meyler had conceded possession cheaply in central midfield.
Jurgen Klinsmann's side could have taken a lead into half-time when their captain Jozy Altidore hit the crossbar with a powerful shot.
But Ireland regained the lead 10 minutes into the second half when Brady was picked out by McGoldrick again before calmly slotting past the keeper.
Shane Long then hit the post after a powerful run on the break. But James McClean fired in a third seconds later.
Man of the Match Brady signed off in style by curling in a beautifully taken free-kick to make it 4 - 1 in the final senior international match of 2014.
