Bournemouth against Crystal Palace set to be BBC's maiden Premier League game

The meeting of Bournemouth against Crystal Palace on June the 20th is likely to the first-ever live Premier League game screened by the BBC.

The Telegraph reports that the match has been chosen by the Beeb and they're now just waiting final approval for what will likely to the biggest UK audience for a Premier League fixture.

The previous record of 4.04 million viewers was set by the Manchester derby between United and City in 2012 on Sky Sports.

Sky are expected to broadcast both matches on the English top-flight's return on June 17th with Sheffield United's clash with Aston Villa at 6pm and the meeting of Manchester City and Arsenal at 8pm.

The Merseyside Derby match between Everton and Liverpool, which could see Jurgen Klopp's side land their first title in 30-years, will be shown free-to-air by Sky on their Sky Pick channel (159).

Sky have committed to showing another 24 matches free-to-air as part of the 64 games which they will broadcast between now and the end of the season.

BT Sport have not yet indicated whether they'll be showing any of the matches in their package on free-to-air, the subscription sports channel has picked up an additional 12 games to bring their remaining total to 20.

Amazon Prime announced today that a subscription to their service won't be required for UK viewers to watch their extra four fixtures but those games will be shown on Premier Sports here in Ireland.
