Bastian Schweinsteiger makes a statement on Manchester United future

Bastian Schweinsteiger's time at Manchester United has been nothing short of a disaster.

Frozen out by new manager Jose Mourinho, the German World Cup winner has yet to feature for United this season. The 32-year-old has not spoken publicly about his situation until Wednesday afternoon.

Schweinsteiger, who retired from international football after Euro 2016, has revealed that once he leaves Old Trafford, he wont play in Europe again, paving the way for a potential transfer to MLS. China, or potentially Australia also remain as an option for the German.

"MUFC will be my last club in Europe. I respect other clubs, but Manchester United was the only one which could make me leave Bayern Munich. I will be ready, if the team needs me."

"This is all I can say about my current situation. I want to thank the fans for their amazing support over the recent weeks."

Manchester United play Hull City away on Saturday evening. Something miraculous would need to happen to see Schweinsteiger line out for Jose Mourinho's side.
