Barcelona receive bid from unnamed club for Philippe Coutinho

While Coutinho has been linked with a move back to Anfield, it appears that Barcelona have received a bid for the Brazilian from an unknown club.

Barca have made it clear that they're looking to offload the attacking midfielder and now they're assessing potential suitors.

Coutinho only moved to the Camp Nou back in January 2018 but he has failed to reach the same heights as his time at Liverpool.

The bid from the unnamed club would see him get the same wages that he is currently on at Barca.

Barca hasn't ruled out sending him out on loan either, with the possibility of buying him the year after.

Coutinho scored 11 goals in all competitions last season and provided five assists for the Catalan club.

Injuries have plagued the Brazilian during his time at the Camp Nou and he hasn't always been a consistent starter under Valverde.

Coutinho and his representatives will return to Catalonia this week and negotiations over the proposal are expected to move quickly.

Barca have spent big this summer, signing Antoine Greizmann from Atletico Madrid for €117m and Frenkie De Jong from Ajax for €73m.

There have been some departures as well with Brazilian winger Malcolm recently signing for Zenit Saint Petersburg and Jasper Cillessen moving to Valencia.
