Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has defended Simon Mignolet after his own goal in last night's 3-1 win away to Leicester.
Lallana, Gerrard and Henderson scored for the Reds who move to eighth position in the Premiership, but Rodgers feels criticism of his keeper is unfair. After the game he spoke to the gathered press about what's been going right and wrong:
Fourth-place Manchester United could receive further good news today following yesterday's 2-1 win over Stoke at Old Trafford in which Fellaini and Mata scored.
After the game, manager Louis Van Gaal said he doesn't believe Wayne Rooney's knee injury is that serious, but the striker will have a scan today. Van Gaal says his team weren't as good as they were against Hull last weekend when offering his take on the game and Rooney's knee:
Aston Villa continued to improve in the absence of Roy Keane, with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on a poor Selhurst park pitch.
Christian Benteke got his first goal of the season, lifting them up to 12th with their first league win since September 27th.
In the post match press conference, Villa boss Paul Lambert was once again asked about Keane's departure and whether or not it was acrimonious. You can hear his comments below:
In the night's other action, Swansea moved up to sixth with a 2-0 win over QPR and West Ham solidified fifth after a 2-1 win at West Brom. Burnley are outside of the relegation zone following a 1-1 draw with Newcastle, but there was bad news for Ireland full back Stephen Ward who was stretchered off with an ankle injury - the former Bohemians and Wolves player will be assessed further today.
There are four more games tonight, with Chelsea taking on Spurs, Arsenal meeting Southampton, Everton play Hull and Sunderland host Manchester City. Vincent Kompany misses out for City due a to a hamstring injury.
