Phil Thompson reckons Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini made “dreadful decisions” in yesterday’s home defeat by Arsenal.
The Sky Sports pundit told Ivan Yates on Newstalk's Breakfast that City’s tactics were all wrong for the Gunners’ visit, but admitted Samir Nasri was “missed” while reserving special praise for Francis Coquelin.
“It was Man City that had to make all the play and they had two holding midfielders, and didn’t see it,” said Thompson. “That’s where they needed change.”
The former Liverpool great was also highly critical of the infamous offside call during the Tottenham-Sunderland clash on Saturday, and previewed Liverpool’s league cup tie with Chelsea tomorrow night.
