Aston Villa have announced the departure of Remi Garde as they sit bottom of the Premier League.
The Frenchman replaced Tim Sherwood who was sacked last October as the Birmingham side already sat bottom of the table with just one win on the opening day of the season.
Eric Black has been promoted to acting manager.
Garde has led Villa to just two Premier League wins since then, with a 1-0 victory at home to Crystal Palace on January 12th and a second win against Norwich in the first week of February.
In a statement, Villa said: "Manager, Rémi Garde, has today left Aston Villa Football Club by mutual consent.
"The Club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Rémi for all his efforts during a difficult period and wish him well in the future.
"Eric Black will take over as acting manager until the Club appoints a new manager.
"There will be no further comment from the Club at this stage."
