Arsene Wenger and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pocettino have both expressed interest in inheriting the role as England manager following the shock resignation of Sam Allardyce.
A Daily Telegraph investigation into corruption in English football featured Allardyce revealing ways to bypass player transfer rules which ultimately made his position untenable.
Allardyce stepped down during the week, which led to England U21 boss Gareth Southgate being drafted in as the interim manager for the next four matches, including three World Cup qualifiers against Malta, Slovenia and Scotland.
In the mean time, the Football Association are now launching a new search for the next England boss.
Wenger, who celebrated his 20th anniversary as the Arsenal boss has openly said that he would consider it as a future prospect.
"One day, if I'm free, why not? My priority is to do well here. This has always been my club. If I am free one day, why not? But I am concentrated on my job."
Pochettino meanwhile, echoed similar sentiments about his interest in pursuing the job.
"Yes, why not? In the future."
For the moment however, both managers are committed to their clubs. Wenger has guided Arsenal to 15 trophies during his 20-year tenure at Arsenal, including three Premier League titles and six FA Cups. Currently sitting third in the table, Arsenal are chasing their first Premier League cup for the first time since 2004.
Pochettino led Spurs back into the Champions League last season after earning automatic qualification from a third-place finish on the table.
Depending on the outcome of the games under Southgate, his position as England manager could develop into something more permanent. In addition, Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew and former Hull City manager Steve Bruce are also emerging as potential candidates.
