There is a surprise player on Arsenal's radar according to some reports with claims that the Gunners intend to sign West Brom centre-back Jonny Evans.
Arsene Wenger has to contend with defensive issues at the start of the season with club captain Per Mertesacker sidelined for the first months of the season and Laurent Koscielny being rested after Euro 2016.
That reduces the options at the North London club's disposal and The Mirror report that ex-Man United centre-back Evans is the player Wenger is targeting.
Reportedly, Arsenal hope to seal a £15 million for the 28-year-old Northern Ireland international, who made joined West Brom last summer.
Wenger had revealed that he is in the market for a central defender, as well as an attacking player while speaking on Arsenal's US tour.
"The best way to conclude transfers is not to talk about it which is very difficult in a press conference. But we are in the market and I wouldn't like to talk specifically about any individual," he said.
