With England already looking forward - well, not quite - to a flight home, it is down to Italy and Uruguay to fight for the final qualifying spot behind Costa Rica.
While that is not a sentence I expected to write at the start of the tournament, it is hard to predict who will join Los Ticos in the last-16.
To get the Italian perspective we were joined by Fox Sports' Roberto Gotta who feels that the reaction to the win over England and the defeat to Costa Rica have both been over the top.
He believes Italy will switch to a back three for tomorrow's game against Uruguay.
"All things point towards Italy going to a back three for tomorrow and actually a Juventus back three," said Gotta, citing issues with main defender Giorgio Chiellini who has moved from left-back to the centre during the tournament so far.
Assuming they can fend off Uruguay and co, Gotta is optimistic that Italy have the strength to get past the teams in Group D like Ivory Coast and Colombia in the last-16.
