Tottenham's misfiring striker Emmanuel Adebayor believes their fans' negativity is making the players feel uncomfortable performing at White Hart Lane.
The side were booed off after losing 2 - 1 to Stoke in the Premier League yesterday.
Adebayor believes the supporters' attitude is making the squad feel like "your family not welcoming you home".
"Instead of booing people, which will make it even worse, I think it is sometimes better to support them and give them what they need to perform on the pitch," he said.
"Right now, to tell you the truth, I think a lot of players when they put on the shirt and go out on to the pitch, are finding it hard in the head."
The Togolese striker was guilty of giving the ball away in his first involvement against Stoke and has two goals in all competitions so far this season.
Spurs are currently 12th in the Premier League table.
