Former England international footballer Adam Johnson was also arrested for possession of extreme pornography involving animals.
The former Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Manchester City winger was today jailed for six years after being found guilty of engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old fan.
As he has been sentenced, it can now be reported that Johnson had been arrested on suspicion of possessing extreme pornography involving animals, but police are no longer pursuing it.

Johnson was re-arrested when detectives investigated the original grooming and child sex allegations. He was placed on police bail during his trial, but on Wednesday Durham Constabulary dropped the allegations.
Investigators also discovered internet searches for child teen sex websites, but prosecutors said this was not for underage girls.
And medication used to treat a sexually transmitted disease was also found during a search of his mansion.
A judge previously banned this information from being reported, but these orders were lifted after a legal challenge from Sky News and other media organisations following Johnson's sentence.
