A Midtjylland routine helped Manchester United defeat Shrewsbury in the FA Cup

Manchester United's 3-0 win over Shrewsbury Town eased the pressure on Louis van Gaal after the side's loss to Midjtylland last week.

Juan Mata scored the team's second goal just before half-time. There were complaints of United players being offside as they lined up in a wall behind the Shrewsbury wall. The goal stood and afterwards Louis van Gaal revealed they learned the play from their Europa League opponents.

"We have learned because we have analysed Midtjylland. We have seen that they are doing that and we thought that it was offside too. So we have asked the Portuguese referees from that game and they said; 'no, it’s not offside, you can do that'. So that’s why we have learnt from Midtylland and today we have scored, so that’s good."

United's win earned them a home Sixth Round tie against West Ham United. They face Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier League.
