Ryan Sessegnon signs for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham.

It is believed that the Champions League finalists have paid Fulham a fee that could potentially be worth €27m (£30m) for Sessegnon.

It has been reported that the England youth international has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, with the option for an additional year.

Tottenham will pay an initial fee of €27m (£25m) for Sessegnon, and the fee could rise to €27m (£30m) with add-ons that are related to his performance.

Josh Onomah is also believed to be included in the deal, going to the opposite direction and joining Fulham.

Spurs have reportedly been interested in signing Sessegnon for a long time and the move will be a boost to Mauricio Pochettino after he publicly admitted he was unsure of his future at White Hart Lane.

The 19-year-old joins club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso as new arrivals for Tottenham as they attempt to push on after reaching the Champions League final last season.

Ryan Sessegnon broke into Fulham’s first team at just 16 years of age back in 2016. He became the first player born in the 21st century to score a senior goal in the Football League.

However, it was during the 2017-18 season that he made his name. He scored 15 goals and helped Fulham to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

Sessegnon's first taste of Premier League football last season didn't go as he would have planned.

The u21 England international player was expected to take his game to the next level when he started playing in the Premier League, but for one reason or another, it didn't happen for him.

His now former-manager, Scott Parker, explained that Sessegnon is still just a young player and that it was part of his development to go through ups and downs as he learns his trade.

It will be interesting to watch his development under Mauricio Pochettino.
