Wales off to a winning start at Rugby World Cup

Wales kicked off their campaign in Japan with a 43-14 win over Georgia in Toyota in their opening Pool D game.

Warren Gatland's side secured the bonus point before half-time, leading 29-0 at the break.

It only took two minutes for the Grand Slam winners to open the scoring when Jonathan Davies touched down under the posts, although Dan Biggar somehow missed the routine conversion.

Justin Tipuric, Josh Adams and Liam Williams also crossed the try-line in the first half to wrap up the game for the Welsh.

Georgia were far more competitive in the second half and got their first points of the game when Shalva Mamukashvili went over for a try in the 43rd minute.

Tomos Williams replied with a try for Wales before Georgia got their second try through Levan Chilachava.

George North ran in with Wales' sixth try of the game in the 75th minute and will now face Australia next Sunday in a game will almost certainly decide who tops the group.
