Paul O'Connell's expected move to Toulon may now not take place. French newspaper Midi-Olympique have reported that "an old shoulder injury" is worrying the European champions.
French based rugby writer Gavin Mortimer has reported that the French side my now try and sign O'Connell after the World Cup on a short term deal.
The news will come as a blow to O'Connell who was released by the IRFU and Munster a year before his contract was due to expire. It was expected the the Limerick native would spend the final years of his career at Toulon before becoming a coach.
Just had a well-placed source tell me about Paul O'Connell that Toulon "went cold on him last week for no reason. Were uncontactable."
