Scotland’s Six Nations hopes have been dealt a blow as an upper arm injury has ruled out lock Richie Gray.
The 25-year-old will be out for up to 12 weeks with the injury, which he sustained during Sunday’s 26-23 defeat to Wales at Murrayfield.
The news adds to Scotland’s woes, as prop Jon Welsh is also out for the rest of the tournament with a broken hand.
Scotland could also face into their next game, against Italy in Rome, without fly-half Finn Russell, who has been cited for a tackle on Dan Biggar during the Wales game.
