Overall Schmidt has made 14 changes to the team that beat Wales.
Mike Ross is the only survivor from the side that started last weekend's win over Wales as he continues his remarkable record of having played in every game under the head coach.
Schmidt has also revealed that Marty Moore could have played this weekend if necessary - but they decided not to risk his recovery from injury.
Moore and Tadhg Furlong are both likely to play in the pre-season friendly between Leinster and Ulster next week.
Meanwhile, New Zealand-born flanker Hugh Blake will make his debut for the Scots.
It had already been announced that Blake's Glasgow team-mate Henry Pyrgos will captain the side.
