Roux to remain at Connacht until summer

Connacht have confirmed that Quinn Roux will stay on loan from Leinster until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old South African lock has featured in 13 games this campaign, including the wins against Leinster and Munster at the Sportground.

“We are pleased to say we have extended Quinn Roux’s deal until the end of the season, which is great,” said Connacht head coach Pat Lam.

"He has very much impressed us. He has impressed everyone since he arrived here. The boys welcomed him, he really enjoys it, and when you tie those factors together, we see the result.”

In further good second-row news for Connacht, Mick Kearney is likely to be fit for their Challenge Cup game at home to Exeter on January 18th. The 23-year-old is recovering from an ankle injury.

Next up for Lam's side is a clash with Edinburgh at home in the Guinness PRO12 on Friday.
