It wasn't the best day for Romania on the pitch, as Ireland showed the gulf in class between the two teams with a commanding win over their opposition by a scoreline of 44-10.
That wasn't much cause for celebration amongst the Romanian players and fans, but at the end of the game, on the biggest stage that the players are likely to come across given that Wembley was packed and there was a record attendance set for a World Cup game, one Romanian player decided that it was the right time to pop the question.
Florin Surugiu got down on one knee and, with the squad of players watching on as well as Off the Ball's Dave McIntyre, he asked his girlfriend if she'd agree to marry him.
Judging by the reaction, she said yes, so at least there's one reason to pop open a bottle of champagne this evening for Surugiu and his team-mates.
"He is taking it very well if she just said "no""

Of course, the whole thing was reminiscent of that other great sporting proposal...

While we're sure he's happy for the couple, coach Lynn Howells revealed in the post match press conference that he tried to talk him out of it.
Also said he tried to talk his scrum half out of proposing to his girlfriend pitchside after the game.

Howells doesn't sound like much of a wingman, in fairness.
