Rassie Erasmus wary of resurgent Scarlets

Munster's season comes down to one game on Saturday evening.

They make the trip up the M7 to the Aviva Stadium for this weekend's Guinness PRO12 Championship final and have the chance finish one of the most memorable season's in the club's history on a high.

But director of rugby Rassie Erasmus knows the challenge that lies ahead. Scarlets made history last weekend by becoming the first away team to win PRO12 semi-final when they beat Leinster at the RDS.

Since their defeat to Leo Cullen's side back at the start of March, the Welsh outfit have won all six of their following games, including exacting revenge on the Irish province.

Erasmus says their performance in Dublin was ominous for Munster.

"The players have confidence," he said. "The biggest compliment I can pay to them is when you play with 14 men at the RDS and you win. There's something more than skill there, there's a lot of heart involved.

"He [Wayne Pivac, Scarlets head coach] always makes his teams very tough to beat."

Scarlets last visited Thomond Park in February, when they were nine-points winners over Munster to end their winning run and kept the Irish province scoreless in the second half.

"There was a strong wind that day that we played against in the first half, so tactically we got a few things wrong in the second half.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about that.

"The week after that they went and got smashed by Leinster, but in the last few weeks they've really turned it around. That result isn't influencing our mindset, but we are thinking about it."

Kick-off at the Aviva Stadium this Saturday is at 6.15pm.
