Peter Stringer is staying in the Aviva Premiership after joining Sale Sharks on a one year contract.
Stringer is the most capped Irish scrum-half of all time with an impressive tally of 98 caps - many of them alongside his former Munster team mate Ronan O’Gara.
He played 230 games for Munster but has played in England for Saracens, Newcastle and current club Bath over the last four years.
Stringer could sign off at Bath with a Premiership title as his club face Leicester in the semi-finals on Saturday.
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said, “Once I heard that Peter was looking for a new club I made my move and I am delighted he has decided to join us.
Reports earlier this year suggested that Stringer was on Matt O'Connor's radar ahead of a potential move to Leinster.
