Pat Lam: "At the end of the day, it's right in our hands. We win, we go through."

Despite winning 66-21 in Galway earlier on Saturday, Connacht coach Pat Lam says there is plenty to work on as the head to France on the final weekend.

Speaking to Off the Ball's Oisin Langan after the game, the Connacht coach said: "Yeah, job done. At the end of the day we've come off getting the five points and we achieved that but we're pretty disappointed because we had another internal goal of not conceding any tries so I was pretty disappointed at half-time and even there at the end so there's a bit to work on.

"We know that it's all going to come down to next week, we need improvement because it's going up another level next week."

Commenting on the early scores Zebre scored, Lam said: "It comes from individuals not doing their job. When we're good, everyone's got to do their bit and that's the way we play. We gave them opportunities by not calling the right plays or not executing.

"That's when we are pretty average. We fell off tackles which was disappointing. A few guys are disappointed by that and the only way to fix that is to understand what went wrong and to get back to work," he added.

Looking ahead to next week's clash with Toulouse in France, he said: "At the end of the day, it's right in our hands. We win, we go through, that's all we're after.

"Our belief comes from the work we do at training. It was the first time in five weeks we've had the starting 15 complete the whole training week. The quality of our sessions were a lot better and we saw that today."
