Tyler Bleyendaal bemoans Munster's second-half drought

Tyler Bleyendaal bemoaned Munster's inability to register a second-half score against Scarlets as they were beaten at Thomond Park for the first time this season.

Munster's stunning winning run came to an abrupt half when the Welsh side came from 15 points down at the break to beat Rassie Erasmus' side 30-21.

Speaking after the game, Munster's kicker admitted his frustration with the result despite an impressive first-half performance.

"There was no lack of attempts," he told TG4. "Often it was just a few execution errors. They put us under pressure and we put ourselves under pressure. To not get a score was very disappointing.

"That ten minute period after half-time they were just on fire, we couldn't stop the momentum or stop the bleeding. We just can't give them that many chances. It was really disappointing after the first half that we had."

Munster have performed a similar comeback last week away to Welsh side Ospreys, but were unable to build on Darren Sweetnam, Conor Oliver and Jaco Taute's first half tries.

Bleyendaal explained that they stuck to their guns because those were the tactics that have earned them so many points this season both domestically and in Europe.

"That's what has been working for us the whole season. We take it to them,  we back ourselves to get those tries and when it doesn't come off we should still be down there applying pressure."

They slip off the top spot in the Guinness PRO12 Championship table after Leinster picked up a resounding win away to the Dragons on Friday night.

Leo Cullen's men ran in eight tries during their bonus point win to move to the summit.
