It was a clean sweep for the Irish provinces in action tonight in the Guinness Pro12, with all three racking up convincing wins.
Munster were the only Irish side playing away from home tonight, in Newport, Wales, but came away with a 38-12 bonus point win.
Mils Muliaina made his debut for Connacht tonight and the former All Black helped Pat Lam's side to a 43-3 win over Zebre at the Sportsground.
The home side ran in five tries as Lam emptied the bench in what turned out to be a very comfortable evening’s work.
Muliaina made his mark early on, as the veteran full-back provided the final pass for winger Danie Poolman to touch down for the opening try of the night.
Despite the Dragons taking the early lead, Musnter took control soon after and eased to a win with five tries. Munster touched down through Duncan Casey (twice), Ronan O’Mahony, Andrew Smith and Robin Copeland. Ian Keatley added the remainder from the boot.
Ulster had the least breathing space of the Irish sides tonight but were never in major danger tonight as the beat table toppers.
Darren Cave (twice) and Franco Van der Merwe both crossed the line at Ravenhill as Neil Doak’s side took the 25-16.
In the other game of the evening Scarlets beat Glasgow 19-9 in Llanelli.
Final scores Guinness Pro12
