Is the balance of power shifting back towards Munster?

Former Ireland head coach Eddie O'Sullivan believes the balance of power in Irish rugby is beginning to swing back towards Munster.

The Reds secured a first league double over rivals Leinster for the first time since 2009.

Eddie and former Ireland captain Keith Wood joined us on Off The Ball to review the festive fixtures which included that Munster mauling of Leinster.

Although he feels form and injuries is a major factor, Eddie thinks Munster have turned the tables to a degree.

"I think we are [seeing a shift in the balance of power] even based on the balance of the performances leading into the game. Leinster have been stuttering and starting. I think Munster dominated Leinster. It was a game in which Munster played the type of rugby they wanted to play. They were very aggressive and carried the ball very well. They really bullied Leinster off the field," said Eddie.

Keith feels Leinster were second best in all facets of the game last Friday and thinks Munster have the "edge" when it comes to a style of play that Matt O'Connor's side do not like facing.

Eddie also believes that Leinster will need to evolve their game until they can count on the likes of the injured Sean O'Brien and Cian Healy again.

The lads also discussed Connacht's narrow defeat to Ulster at Ravenhill and where it leaves both sides, while Eddie said he feels the latter's fly-half Paddy Jackson seems "edgy".
