Ireland captain Paul O'Connell was last night named as the IRUPA Player of the Year.
It is the second time O'Conell has won the prestigious award, with his first success coming in 2006.
The Munster second row is expected to retire from international rugby after this years World Cup but his name continues to be linked with European champions Toulon for a final club swansong.
O'Connell's contract with Munster ends at the end of the 2015/16 season,
