Grenoble reinstate six players

The six Grenoble players who were temporarily stood down by the club after allegations of rape were made, have been reinstated by the French Top 14 side.

The club released the following statement: "On March 17th, as soon as their convocation took place, the FC Grenoble Rugby decided to lay off six professional players as a conservator. These players were summoned as part of an investigation for flagrance opened in Bordeaux on 12 March. FC Grenoble Rugby made the decision, saying that players should benefit from the presumption of innocence."

"To date, no charge has been made against the players following their police custody at the Grenoble police hotel, FC Grenoble Rugby has decided to lift the layoff and reinstate these players while Reserving the right to take further action in the event of new information being brought to its attention in the course of the preliminary investigation."

"FC Grenoble wants to reaffirm once again that its sole will is the manifestation of truth."

Grenoble are currently second last in the French Top 14 and trail Stade Francais in 12th by 12 points.
