Connacht name team for Irish derby with Leinster

Pat Lam has named his Connacht side to face Leinster in Galway on Saturday evening in the Guinness PRO12 Championship.

Dave Heffernan and Finlay Bealham return to the side and will start in the front row alongside Denis Buckley.

Quinn Roux and Andrew Browne start at lock with Eoin McKeon, Jake Heenan and John Muldoon making up the back row unit.

Kieran Marmion and Jack Carty are paired at half-back with Craig Ronaldson and Bundee Aki completing the midfield.

Danie Poolman and Niyi Adeolokun are named on the wings with Tiernan O’Halloran starting at full back.

Shane Delahunt, JP Cooney, Dominic Robertson-McCoy, Sean O’Brien, Naulia Dawai, Caolin Blade, Steve Crosbie and Eoin Griffin are all named on the bench.

"It’s great to be back at the Sportsground in front of our home support after a number of weeks on the road," Pat Lam said in a statement this afternoon.

"Leinster are flying high at the top of the PRO12 table as well as in Europe and we know we are coming up against a tough side stacked with quality players.

"But that just adds to the excitement for us as a team. We are really looking forward to this game and the chance to put in a huge performance for ourselves, for our supporters and for John Muldoon on a special day for him."
