'If I was England I'd be worried' - Barnes and BOD on Ireland's next match

Just over a week from now, Ireland have a real chance to put down a real marker in the search for consecutive Six Nations championship titles.

But standing in the way is a strong England side who visit the Aviva Stadium on matchday three.

Off The Ball guest presenter Brian O'Driscoll and Sky Sports rugby analyst Stuart Barnes looked ahead to the game tonight.

Barnes started off with his views of Ireland's style of play.

"I haven't found them enjoyable to watch but international rugby isn't just about delivering enjoyment to neutrals. I have been impressed by Ireland. I just don't think they've been easy on the eye. If I was an England coach I'd be worried because of the efficiency and organisation," said Barnes.

Brian also gave an insight into why there has been a difference between the provincial scene and the international one.

"People talk about Joe Schmidt's Leinster team, how good they were and how attacking they were. The international game is a very different game. So in situations where a lot of the plays we might have seen with Ireland were done with Leinster. Yet guys are shutting them down because internationally, everyone's thinking the same way and thinking that fraction earlier," he explained, highlighting examples from the win over France.

Looking at the tactics for next Sunday, Barnes believes England's best bet is a territorial game hinging on set pieces, trying to play in the Irish '22.

Brian and Barnes also discussed the talents possessed by England centre Jonathan Joseph and the pressure that is on him.

"This guy, without a shadow of a doubt, has bucketloads of confidence. I still think he's a little bit unproven from a defensive perspective and Ireland should target that," said Brian, who also expects Ireland to target England fly-half George Ford.
