Roy Keane channels Alex Ferguson in Jamie Redknapp argument

Roy Keane has bemoaned Tottenham's softness ahead of their match with his former club Manchester United on Sunday.

"He makes a good point there, before he came in and took the job Spurs had gone a year without winning away from home," Keane said of a pre-match interview with Spurs boss Jose Mourinho.

"We all know, and we keep repeating, that there is a softness in this Spurs team."

Jamie Redknapp is becoming Keane's broadcasting partner-in-crime; the Teddy Sheringham and Alan Shearer of the small screen.

Roy Keane v Jamie Redknapp

Challenged by Redknapp that Spurs got to a Champions League final as recently as 2019, Keane was adamant it does not change things.

"Jamie, they were lucky to get to that final. Anyway, getting to the final is like being top of the league in November - they got to the final but they got beaten in the final.

"What are we sitting here talking about Mourinho for? If you're going to get to a final - getting to a final, the whole point is to try and win the bloody thing.

"When Mourinho leaves, there will still be a softness to this Spurs team, that is down to the players."

Redknapp asked the Corkonian how long Tottenham have been soft for.

"They've been soft for the last 40 years."

Lads, it's Tottenham

Jamie went in to bat for a Spurs side managed by...who was it again...

"So when they got to a quarter-final of the Champions League with Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, that was a good team - you can't say.."

"But, Jamie, if a quarter-final was success then you can have your success."

Jamie could not just let sleeping dogs lie.

"You can say that about Tottenham but they have had some great teams over the last few years as well. They're not as good as United or City, they haven't spent the money that those teams have spent."
