McIlroy shoots impressive third round with Dustin Johnson the man to catch at Augusta

A five-under-par third round of 67 has seen Rory McIlroy climb up the leaderboard at the Masters.

The Northern Ireland native shot six birdies at Augusta on Saturday to leave him 8-under-par heading into the final day.

The four-time Major winner recorded his worst ever round at The Masters on Thursday - carding a disappointing three-over-par round of 75.

The 31-year old then found his rhythm on Friday with a bogey-free second round of 66, and he showed it wasn't a flash in the pan as his good form continued on day three.

McIlroy, who's attempting to win the only Major that illudes him, will be in contention for a positive finish when he tees off from 8-under-par, in a tie for 10th on the leaderboard, in Georgia on Sunday.

World number one Dustin Johnson is the man to catch - he holds a four-shot lead over the chasing pack on 16-under-par.

The 36-year-old American, who was in a tie for second at last year's tournament, shot a very impressive third round of 65.

That leaves him 16-under all-round, four clear of the chasing pack as he looks to win the green jacket for the first time.

Shane Lowry carded a four-under-par third round of 68 on Saturday.

That leaves the Offaly native five-under for the tournament and in a tie for 20th as he prepares for his final day.
