Robbie Brady signs for Championship leaders Bournemouth

Robbie Brady has joined Bournemouth.

The Republic of Ireland international signs for the Championship club after a period as a free agent.

He was released from Burnley at the end of last season and remained without a club until now.

He has signed a deal until the end of the season - but there is the option of extending his stay beyond that.

Brady has 57 Irish caps and enjoyed spells at club level at Hull City, Norwich and Burnley.

Still only 29, Brady began life cross channel in the Manchester United academy.

His biggest moment in an Ireland shirt came at Euro 2016 when he scored the winner in a memorable win over Italy in France.

"To be able to sign a player of Robbie’s experience and calibre on a free transfer is a coup for the football club," Bournemouth Chief Executive Neill Blake said.

“Robbie has huge quality and versatility to add another important option to Scott Parker and his coaching staff."

“Proven at the top level, Robbie knows what it takes to be a Premier League player and we’re delighted he has chosen to join us at Vitality Stadium.”

Bournemouth are currently top of the Championship after 12 matches.

In that time, they've been unbeaten with eight wins and four draws.

Their latest victory was a 2-0 success against Bristol City on Saturday.

They take on Stoke City tomorrow evening.

Brady joins fellow Republic of Ireland player Mark Travers at the Vitality Stadium, where U-21 international Gavin Kilkenny is also part of the first-team squad.
