Munster head-coach Johan van Graan is hopeful that South African forward RG Snyman will be back from injury next month.

The World Cup winner missed almost all of his debut season in Limerick due to a cruciate ligament injury. He also suffered burns in a fire-pit accident at the start of the summer which saw him miss South Africa's series against the Lions.

“He will potentially be available sometime in October, not necessarily the start of October," Van Graan confirmed this afternoon about Snyman stepping up his return to training.

"We have no pressure on RG. He is also working very closely with the Springboks as well to make sure both parties look after him very well.

"He will start filtering into some small bits of rugby training and as soon as he’s ready I can’t wait to let him play his first game of the season for Munster whenever that will be."

Mike Haley (groin) and Dan Goggin (thigh) have returned to collective training with the squad. Conor Murray and Tadhg Beirne have been given a break after touring with the Lions this summer while Damien de Allende will rejoin the province at the end of South Africa's Rugby Championship campaign.
