Donnacha Ryan looks set to leave Racing 92 at the end of this season.

Reports in France say the 37-year old will not have his contract renewed in the summer.

The lock left Munster for Racing in 2017, effectively ending his Ireland career in the process after 47 caps.

During his time in Paris, Ryan has twice been a runner-up in the Heineken Champions Cup final. He started the 15-12 defeat to Leinster in Bilbao at the end of his first season.

And he was a second-half replacement for Bernard Le Roux during the 2020 final defeat to Exeter Chiefs at Ashton Gate.

He's since helped Racing into title contention yet again in the Top 14. They're currently third in the table, seven-points adrift of leaders Toulouse.

Ryan wasn't involved in last week's defeat to Toulon, and according to RMC Sport is not in Racing's plans for next season.

It seems likely Ryan will remain in France should he continue playing. He's been linked with a move to Pro D2 leaders, Vannes.

Ryan is not the only man heading for the La Défense Arena exit.

Simon Zebo is in the final months of his contract at the club, and has also not been offered an extension thus far.

Speaking last month, Zebo said he would be tempted by a return to Munster - should he leave Racing - as it would offer an avenue to the 2023 Rugby World Cup back in France.

"It would be incredible to go back," Zebo said, "I would really love to do it, but sometimes you don't get dealt those cards.

"I genuinely love life in Paris - I could not be happier day-to-day and my family do too. There would be a lot going into that decision.

"The World Cup [in 2023] is there but I would probably be too old so that wouldn't hold much weight!"

Also leaving Racing this summer is France international winger Teddy Thomas. He's set to join Top 14 leaders Toulouse.
