Colin Keane has his sights set on a record 'that won't be beaten' for a long time, after setting a new record for the most winners in a season last week.
Keane made history when he broke Joseph O'Brien's all-time record for winners in a season with three weeks to spare, at the Curragh last week.
The 27-year-old jockey equalled O'Brien's record of 126 wins the previous week, and he reached the benchmark of 127 when Power Under Me won the Listed Waterford Testimonial Stakes.
He wasted no time improving on the record, hitting 128 in the very next race aboard Pretty Boy Floyd in a handicap.
Speaking on Friday Night Racing, Keane told Off the Ball that he had no intention of stopping at 128.
"We're trying to set a new record that nobody might be for a while", Keane said.
"We'd love to get into the mid-130's if possible. We've the guts of two weeks left in the season, so it is doable if we can keep going the right direction."
On the record itself, Keane admits that he set out in the season hoping to beat his tally from the previous season, rather than O'Brien's record.
"It only came into our thought process once we got over the 100 mark with about five or six weeks left in the season, so we were just hoping that things could keep going the way they were."

"I think it depends a lot on the quality of horses you're riding; this year, we've rode a lot of nice horses, the quality of the yard has got better."
Ger Lyons, who made Keane his stable jockey in 2014, was the supplier of the horse that broke the record, and he was rightly delighted with the record breaker.
“Colin is a credit to himself, his family and the whole racing industry. He’s a fine example of what a champion jockey should be. He keeps himself to himself and lets his riding do the talking,” Lyons said.
