Al Boum Photo remains on course to defend Cheltenham Gold Cup crown

Al Boum Photo is still in the running to defend his title in next week's Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup.

The eight-year-old handed trainer Willie Mullins a first-ever win in the Festival's blue ribband race 12-months ago and he'll be bidding to be the first horse since Best Mate to take victory in successive renewals.

Mullins will also saddle Kemboy, who handed Ruby Walsh a win in his final race as a jockey in defeating Al Boum Photo in last year's Punchestown Gold Cup, and Real Steel .

Gordon Elliott will be hoping that Delta Work can hand him a first Gold Cup success since Don Cossack's victory in the race four years ago.

Waterford-based handler Henry de Bromhead will run both Monalee and Chris's Dream.

Nicky Henderson's Santini heads up the home challenge with dual King George hero Clan Des Obeaux looking the most fancied of Paul Nicholls' chances.

The Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Bristol De Mai, who was third in the Gold Cup last year, will look to get his first win in six attempts at the Cheltenham Festival.

Entries: Al Boum Photo, Bristol De Mai, Chris's Dream, Clan Des Obeaux, Delta Work, Elegant Escape, Kemboy, Lostintranslation, Monalee, Presenting Percy, Real Steel, Santini.
