Legendary horse racing trainer Aidan O'Brien spoke about the career of "Extra special " Galileo on OTB'S Friday Night Racing.

O'Brien joined Johnny Ward and Ger Gilroy ahead go tomorrow's Grand National at Aintree to discuss  his career and some of his tips for the weekend's racing.  The trainer also spoke about one of his most revered horses, Galileo.

The Wexford man spoke about the horse's early life and progression to become a top-rated horse.

"He came from Coolmore as a very highly rated horse. The highest rating any horse could really get - and how the lads do that is on physical pedigree and mentality,' said O'Brien.

The Ballydoyle stud trainer spoke about Galileo's rating and how the horse's attributes spurred him on to become such become a top rated horse.

"The three things are taken in to account when the rating is given, and he came with an absolutely top rating because of that he was always look upon as a little bit different.

Aidan O'Brien says you could tell from the horse's appearance and mentality, and Galileo's maiden run that he was an sensational  talent.

The Irish trainer doesn't expect a talent like Galileo to come around again.

"He won his maiden by 14 or 15 lengths which is very rare, very unusual for a two-year-old. So, I suppose he always had that special tag from the whole was before he came, when he came and when he ran and should what he could do. Listen - it was extra special, really."
