Former Leinster and Ireland international Shane Byrne says New Zealand's intimidation tactics influence referees.
The former hooker is also concerned that Wane Barnes is referring tomorrow's test game in Aviva Stadium.
Barnes has come in for widespread criticism about his officiating over the past year in particular.
"That's why it's very annoying to play against them, because you're not just playing against the players in front of you, and the tactics they use; they always get the rub of the green from the ref,' Said Byrne.
Byrne says there is mass frustration when playing against the All-Blacks. He believes they receive the majority of the close decisions in matches. He concludes their aura is frustrating.
"There's a whole aura around them that seems to intimidate. 50/50 decisions always seem to go their way - which is very, very annoying when you're on the park.
He says the confidence the All-Blacks have to implement their game plan helps them push their tactics right to the edge.
"They do, they have this ultimate confidence in a way which they'll push the rules right to the edge,' said Byrne.
Byrne definitely believes the referees are influenced by the the New Zealander's hard line approach towards their 'on the edge' style of play.
"They do intimidate referees, and we've see so many times through the years and even in recent days; where decisions that more than likely would have gone against a different side- they always get it.
The former hooker is concerned about Wayne Barnes influence on the game. The Leinster man says some of Barnes' decisions are daft.
He also believes Barnes' loves being the centre of attention.
"I thought that Wayne Barnes got over the worst of his referring conundrums. As I talked about referee's wanting to be centre of attention - he absolutely loves it, and he makes some absolutely daft decisions.
He says Barnes tries to compensate one poor decision by backing it up with another, in order to prove a point to the players, regardless if the decision is made within the laws of the game.
"The problem with Wayne Barnes is not the problem if he makes one (bad decision); he seems to want to follow on with this ridiculous line of thinking.
