UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington says he would be interested in a fight against UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov or Conor McGregor next year.
The American Top Team fighter says he would be interested in fighting the Dubliner or the Dagestani after he defeats current UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
Speaking on Sunday's 'OFF THE BRAWL MMA' show on OFFTHEBALL.COM the interim 170lbs champion couldn't hold back.
He took numerous jibes at the SBG fighter, and also had an insulting tirade at current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
"Welterweight title, if they do the 65' - that title. I'm looking for that big fight, Khabib or maybe we even threaten the 'little Whiskey di*k,' Conor McGregor - come try for history little buddy; come on you little drunk leprechaun,' said the ATT fighter.
Covington slammed the former UFC featherweight champion's performance against the Russian, claiming the Irishman is past his best.
"It was pathetic, I knew that from the start, we knew he couldn't wrestle,' said Covington.
The Californian born fighter says McGregor is on the slide, and believes "The Notorious" has past his peak.
"He's done good for himself, you can't f**king knock the guy, though. He has done the biggest gates but he capped out; he hit his peak.
Colby believes he is coming into the peak of his fighting career.
The 170 Florida based fighter says he is the man to beat in the UFC ranks.
"He doesn't go much further than he is right now; he's at his peak right now. I'm just at the bottom; I'm just at the summit making my way up. This is Colby "Chaos"Covington's game, right now."
Covington admitted he's likely to have a unification bout with UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley in the first quarter of 2019.
"There has been some talks but the thing is that - Super Bowl weekend they've decide not to go with it this year. They are going to Australia instead for their PPV.
He went on to add that he wouldn't entertain a fight against champion Woodley overseas but expects the fight to be in Las Vegas in March or Los Angeles in January.
"It's not going to happen in Australia, obviously. I'm America's champ, so I gotta defending on American soil. It's just a matter of if it will happen on march 3rd in Vegas or January in California."
