As people across the country continue to disregard instructions issued to fight against the spread of coronavirus, boxer Kellie Harrington is perplexed by the 'stupidity of these gobshites.'
One of the team of Irish boxers in London for the 2020 Olympic qualifiers only 10 days ago, Kellie Harrington has been keeping to herself since returning from England without ever contesting a round.
"I don't have the virus," she remarked on Monday's OTB AM of her condition since returning to Ireland, "but I'm not going out risking it regardless."
Amid calling for the 2020 games in Tokyo to be postponed sooner rather than later, Kellie Harrington took aim at those recklessly acting as if there was nothing to be concerned about.
Picking up on a Tweet she sent on Sunday evening that criticised a large group of people queuing - clearly without any adherence to the idea of social-distancing - to enter a chip shop in the Dublin village of Howth.
"I don't understand it," she remarked. "We haven't run out of food or anything. Why are they doing that? Why are are they queuing up for fish and chips? They are just absolute idiots."

In a tirade that will undoubtedly garner plenty of support, Kellie Harrington couldn't fathom why people would be so blase in their attempt to halt the spread of coronavirus.
"It's probably just some hard-man syndrome," she offered by way of an explanation. "Gobshites.
"It is just crazy that there are nurses and doctors out there putting their own lives at risk and then these idiots are doing stupid things like that.
"We're being asked to be safe and to be cautious, to just stay in your house."

Kellie Harrington's anger came shortly after Alan Quinlan shared his own story of being shocked by the behaviour of people when he visited a McDonald's on Sunday.
"I kid you not, there were three guys probably in their early 30s outside the door of McDonald's with some food and they were sharing the one drink.
"I'm not joking you. Talk about ludicrous actions in these circumstances - sharing one drink! There were three other adults there staring face-to-face chatting with each other.
"Some people are just not doing what needs to be done."
