Aston Villa have been busy in the transfer market as they gear up for a return to the Premier League.
Villa have agreed a deal with Manchester City for Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz. Villa will have to pay a fee in the region of £15 million for the 21-year-old.
Luiz has never played for City and has been on loan with Girona for the last two seasons.
Dean Smith's side are also hopeful of signing former Belgium Under-21 international Bjorn Engels. The Villa boss tried to sign the defender when he was in charge of Brentford.
Engels was on loan at Reims from Olympiakos last season but became a permanent signing for the French club at the end of the campaign.
Earlier this week, Villa brought in defenders Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth and Ezri Konsa from Brentford.
