Stuart Byrne highlights the "bad side" that's come into Seamus Coleman's game

It was far from a good night for Seamus Coleman in Geneva.

The Ireland captain was part of the Ireland side that lost 2-0 in Switzerland as Euro 2020 qualifying hopes took a hit.

But to compound the misery, he also received a red card for a handball in the second half.

Darren Randolph saved the resulting penalty. But the sending off means the Everton right-back will miss the deciding clash against Denmark on November 18th.

That wasn't the main concern about Coleman though for Stuart Byrne.

The ex-Shelbourne midfielder was on analysis for us during the game and shared some interesting thoughts at full-time.

Worrying Signs

"There are a lot of worrying signs there at the moment. In particular, I'd have to say, our captain, Seamus Coleman who looks a shadow of the player that we've seen play for Ireland," he said.

"There's this bad side that's come into his game where he's getting involved a lot in the verbal stuff. And he's trying to wind certain players up as if to get them frustrated.

"For me, you either have that in your locker or you don't. And I don't think he's got that. I think it's taking away from him as a player and what he's good at.

"So I think he's been quite poor for us now in the last few games."
