Muller and Hummels both recalled to Germany squad for Euro 2020

Germany manager Joachim Löw has included Thomas Muller and Mats Hummels in his 26-man squad for Euro 2020.

It's the first time both players have been named in a Germany squad for more than two years after both World Cup winners were previously told by Löw that they were not part of his future plans.

However, Löw will step down from his role as manager after the tournament and feels having the experience of Muller and Hummels will give him a better chance of being successful this summer.

Muller has 100 international caps but hasn't featured for Die Mannschaft since a substitute appearance against the Netherlands in the Nations League in November 2018.

The 31-year-old has scored 38 goals for his country and will provide valuable experience to the squad.

Muller's Bayern Munich team-mate Jamal Musiala also makes the cut after pledging his international future to Germany rather than England.

Germany -who suffered a shock loss to North Macedonia in the World Cup qualifiers in March - will have their work cut out in Group F with European champions Portugal, world champions France and Hungary.

Germany's opening game is against France in Munich on June 15th.
