Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Jude Bellingham after inviting the Birmingham City midfielder to the club's training ground.
The Telegraph is reporting that Alex Ferguson was present when Bellingham and his parents were given a tour of Carrington on Monday.
Bellingham was pictured leaving United's training ground with his parents and United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward departed shortly after.
Ferguson's presence shows United's intent on securing the signature of the 16-year-old, who has been linked with a host of clubs in the Premier League and in Europe.
United face competition from the likes of Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Dortmund could be their biggest rival and only have to point at England international Jadon Sancho as an example to the development of a young player.
Sancho left Manchester City for Germany at the age of 17, and has since scored 31 goals in 89 matches for Dortmund.
Bellingham became Birmingham's youngest-ever player in August 2019 and has scored four goals in the Championship this season.
The England under-17 international currently earns £145 a week on a scholarship contract and cannot officially sign a professional deal until he turns 17 in June.
United are on a decent run under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and have every chance of qualifying for next season's Champions League.
It coincides with the signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon in January and United continue to be linked with a move for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.
