Harry Kane set to be fit for the Champions League Final

Tottenham Hotspur have received a major boost with the news Harry Kane is likely to be available for the Champions League Final against Liverpool in Madrid on June 1st.

The England skipper damaged ankle ligaments in the first leg of the quarter final against Manchester City in early April, sitting out the conclusion of the Premier League season and the semi final win over Ajax Amsterdam.

Kane will have to prove his match fitness to manager Mauricio Pochettino, but it would be hard to envisage a situation where the 25 year old, who scored 24 goals in all competitions before the injury, is not picked in the starting 11.

If Kane does start at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, then it's likely to mean a place on the substitutes bench for either Heung Min Son, who scored three goals in the two legged tie with Manchester City, or Lucas Moura, who fired that incredible hat trick in the second half of the semi final second leg with Ajax.

Kane is understood to have read the riot act to his team mates at half time in the semi final at the Johan Cruyff Arena ahead of the Moura inspired miracle.

The World Cup golden boot winner has found the net against Liverpool before, scoring a brace in a 4-1 victory at Wembley in 2017 and also netting twice in the Premier League at Anfield.

Pochettino has some thinking to do when it comes to Harry Kane's selection, but it's a good problem to have as Tottenham prepare for the biggest game in their history.

This will be only the second time Tottenham and Liverpool will have met in UEFA competition.  Liverpool knocked holders Spurs out of the 1973 UEFA Cup semi finals.

The Reds will bid for their sixth European Cup, a competition Spurs have never won in their 137 years.
