Europa League | Man United thrash AZ and Arsenal's comeback

Manchester United continued their recent good form as they rounded off their Europa League group stage campaign with a resounding 4-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar.

But it took until the second half at Old Trafford for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team to break the deadlock.

Veteran full-back Ashley Young put them in front on 53 minutes as they scored four times in nine minutes.

Mason Greenwood netted twice either side of Juan Mata's 62nd minute penalty to put United out of sight.

The Premier League side top Europa League Group L ahead of AZ who also qualify from the group.

Resolve

Meanwhile, Arsenal showed some much-needed resolve to earn a point at Standard Liege.

However, it took Samuel Bastien and Selim Amallah's goals for the home side before the Gunners sparked into life.

Once they conceded those two second half, Alexandre Lacazette and Bukayo Saka responded with two for Arsenal in the final quarter to pick up a point on the road.

Arsenal progress as group winners with Eintracht Frankfurt also qualifying two points behind them.

Wolves also ended their group campaign in style as Diego Jota's hat-trick helped them to a 4-0 win at home to Besiktas.

Leander Dendoncker scored the other Wolves goal.

Celtic lost 2-0 at Romania's CFR Cluj but had already reached the last-32. Rangers drew 1-1 with Young Boys at Ibrox to also qualify for the knockout stages.
