Bohemians to pocket tidy sum as O'Hora moves to MK Dons

Warren O'Hora has completed a permanent move from Brighton to League One side MK Dons.

The 21-year old defender has spent the first half of this season on loan in Milton Keynes, playing 17 games for Russell Martin's side.

O'Hora joined Brighton from Bohemians in 2018 having become a regular under Keith Long in the second half of the 2017 SSE Airtricity League season.

He was confined to Brighton's U23s, and Albion technical director Dan Ashworth said, "Warren has impressed MK Dons since he joined on loan and they were keen to make the move permanent."

His move to Stadium MK is reportedly going to pocket Bohs a five-figure sell-on fee. It's believed he's cost £200,000 (€222,000).

It's not the first time in recent memory that the Phibsborough club have benefitted from a player making a move in England.

Matt Doherty's summer switch from Wolves to Tottenham secured Bohs somewhere in the region of €1.5million.

O'Hora though is delighted to have made his move to MK Dons a permanent one, "I’ve enjoyed my time with the club ever since I arrived back in pre-season," he told their website, "So I’m happy to be here on a permanent basis.

“I’m certainly enjoying my football here and hopefully that’s showing on the pitch. Obviously now I want to get back on the pitch after my little injury setback.

“Every footballer wants to keep improving and developing, and I think MK Dons is the best place for me to do that.

"It’s a big ambition of mine to keep moving forward and I know I can do that with this club - I’m really excited for the future.”
